"His Heart was pierced for us..."

O, Sacred Heart of Jesus,

That bore our every sin,

No longer separated,

For You restored God to men.

O, Sacred Heart of Jesus,

That knows our suffering,

You bled and died for us,

As a holy offering.

O, Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Poured out Your life for man,

That all would know the Son of God,

And God’s eternal plan.

O, Sacred Heart of Jesus,

May I never again pierce Your heart,

For You have paid for all my sins,

Your grace, You did impart.

O, Sacred Heart of Jesus,

That bears our every pain,

To live for You is a blessing,

To die with You is gain.

(Dedicated to my sister, Cynthia Riley, and my many Catholic friends that teach me so much about my walk with Christ and the meaning of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. June 20, 2023.)
