Will You Be Mine?

"Every day He says, "Will you be Mine?"

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. It’s a time for lovers, friends, and family members to express their love and devotion to one another.

Restaurants are filled for days on end with back-to-back bookings for couples on this romantic holiday. Flowers, in particular roses, are in high demand during this time. Chocolates and candies, along with cards and notes are ways to express feelings toward your beloved or loved ones.

Valentine’s Day is even a popular holiday now with girlfriends hosting Galentine’s parties or dinners with friends. Children across the country celebrate the day with the exchange of cards and candies and have parties in the classroom or at home.

This year, Valentine’s Day fell on Ash Wednesday in the Lent calendar. As I attended the special service with a friend, I was moved by the sacred assembly. It was hard to find a parking space, let alone a seat in the packed sanctuary. I was inspired by how many people took time that day to express their love to God in that one church service at noon.

"He woos us every day..."

Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent to prepare your heart for Easter and Christ’s resurrection anew. It’s a time to examine your heart and life afresh and to turn back to God or back to our First Love.

Christianity, in its simplest form, is about a love relationship between the Creator and His created ones. Just like a lover on Valentine’s Day, God longs for an intimate relationship with us too. He doesn’t want anything to stand between us and Him. He is our ultimate Valentine and woos us every day to commune with Him and to live with Him and for Him with passion.

Every day He says to you, “Will you be Mine?”

Beloved:

Turn your hearts back to Me with full devotion! I want to be your First Love again. Let nothing stand between us. I pursue you with all of My heart. Will you do the same? Oh, what joys, bliss, and blessings I long to bestow upon you and give to you! Return to Me beloved one!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued My faithfulness to you.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
