24/7 call 911

Just a week ago, major freezing snowstorms roared across almost half of the nation. In places like Arkansas, we were bombarded with mostly snow and some freezing rain. We were fortunate this time around. However, many people are still trapped in their homes because of thick snow and the lingering freezing temperatures.

In other areas like Oxford, Mississippi, or Nashville, Tennessee, these places were mostly hit with freezing rain that quickly coated and collapsed power lines. Parts of those cities look as though they’ve been devastated by a tornado, with all the downed trees blocking roadways, crashing into homes, and adding more damage to the electrical grid with broken limbs hanging on power lines. Now these cities and many other areas have had no electricity, power, or, in some cases, even water!

It’s alarming watching the news. Emergency personnel and help for the suffering are overwhelmed, and some people can’t even get through with a phone call. Recently, cell phones and the internet service failed nationwide for several days with one particular carrier. It was unnerving to not be able to call family members or loved ones for days on end. And what if there had been an emergency?

And now I wonder and pray for so many across our nation who are facing something similar and worse!

 What happens when you face a crisis, and the phones don’t work? What if you’re in one of these states or cities and you can’t reach the emergency line or help? It’s troubling and disconcerting to see our “neighbors” suffering in these extreme weather conditions.

And I’m reminded to pray.

God can always be reached 24/7. His 9-1-1 system never goes down. He is not affected by a glitch in the system. The weather never disrupts or pulls down His communication lines. And when you call on Him, His line is never busy, never disconnects, and He never puts you on hold!

When you have a need of any kind, you can call out to Him and ask for the help you need 24/7! He is always there and will always answer your prayer.

Call out to Me. I am a good Father, and I will hear and answer your cry for help. I bend low and listen, and I always respond. You can trust Me with any need, large or small, and any crisis, minor or great. Call on Me in times of need.

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” (Ps. 34:17)

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“Call unto Me, and I will answer you...” (Jeremiah 33:3)
