A Coming Storm

For days on end, the national and local news stations have cautioned and warned people across parts of the nation to prepare for a major coming storm.
Predictions have ranged from several inches to several feet of snow and ice in my area, and from the South all the way up the northern and eastern coast.
Even my cell phone, email, posts, and social media have sent out regular warnings of a great storm and to prepare in order to be safe.
On Tuesday, I heeded that advice, making a much-needed grocery run. Some stores were already out of items like meat, bread, and milk. In other stores, you could scarcely find a parking space, let alone a shopping cart.
While on a trip here, my friend Jill decided to heed the warnings of dangerous conditions and roadways. She left several days earlier than she had planned to return home. Others waited until the last minute to prepare for the storm, only to find bare shelves in grocery stores or limited supplies at best.

The weather forecasts have repeatedly warned and cautioned people to prepare!
I can’t help but wonder how many people ignore the advice or procrastinate until it is too late?
And in the same way, I can’t help but draw spiritual parallels. The Word of God continually warns us to be prepared and to heed the advice of scripture and our modern-day forecasters as in preachers, pastors, and prophets.
We are living in very trying times, not just in our nation, but across the world. Some wonder if we are living in the end times.
We must be wise regardless.
Is your house in order? Are you ready, should troubles strike or should any kind of storm strike your life? Are you grounded in Jesus Christ, and are you hiding in the shelter of His Word and His promises? Do you heed the voices of those pointing the way to truth, or do you vainly ignore all warning and caution?
It would be wise to prepare for the coming storm, both literally and spiritually speaking!
Are you prepared?

Beloved:
I never leave you out in the cold. I give many wise and godly voices around you wisdom to speak into your life. Will you heed the warnings? Will you listen and obey? Sometimes those moments can be the difference between life and death. Be wise and obey.
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him.” (Nahum 1:7)
“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)
