Beloved One

Valentine’s Day is an annual celebration to show love to your companion, friend, or family member with the exchange of gifts, flowers, cards, and often a special meal. Even children celebrate with parties at school or at home with the anticipation of receiving some gift or treat, often chocolate.
So much emphasis is placed on this holiday that many feel forgotten, alone, or even unloved. How many received only a few Valentine cards or none at all?
And for the widow who lost their spouse, for the divorcee who has no one, or the single person still alone, the holiday can trigger grief: a feeling of being alone, unseen, rejected, and forgotten. Or worse: a feeling of being unloved. It can be heartbreaking to be sure.
I think that’s why the “Galentine’s Day” parties and celebrations have exploded in popularity. Women, in particular, place great importance on this holiday. And tired of feeling alone, this girl’s celebration has grown in popularity.

But where do you draw your “Belovedness” from?
We all long to be celebrated and cherished, to feel seen and loved. But too many people live in the opposite reality. They’ve never discovered their true identity, or have never found the true source of love from the Creator. It’s only in KNOWING you are fully and wholly loved by God and by the Savior that the soul finds and experiences belovedness. And He celebrates you every day!
How many of us chase after love and seek to fill the hole in our souls through worldly pursuits or wrong relationships? How many of us place false expectations on our spouses, family members, and friends to “feel loved”? How many of us constantly scroll social media and compare our lives with others, and are left feeling abandoned and alone?
The problem is: we keep turning to the wrong source. We keep chasing after false idols, false gods, and even people to fill what only God can satisfy.
He created us with a very valid need: to be loved and seen, to be cherished and wanted, to know our true identity as belonging and beloved. But only He can truly fill the void and satisfy our hearts and souls. No person, party, flowers, or materialistic thing will have a lasting impact.
This Valentine’s Day, let the Lover of your soul satisfy and fulfill your heart as His beloved one!

Beloved:
You are My darling one. I created and made you to have an intimate relationship with Me. I went through the reaches of Heaven and time itself to restore you to Me and break the curse of sin. Through the sacrifice of My Son, I now want you to be Mine forever. And now I want you to know, to truly know how loved you are. I want you to know your true identity as “beloved”. Find freedom in love’s relationship with Me! You are My heart’s desire!
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine...” (Song of Solomon 6:3)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...” (John 3:16)
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith...keep yourselves in the love of God...” (Jude 1:20-21)
