Spring Is Springing Forth

"Winter reared her head one last time..."

Just a week ago, another cold front moved into our state, bringing single-digit temperatures and freezing rain, snow, and ice. Schools were shut down for four days and I was homebound as the icy roads were too treacherous to navigate in my hilly neighborhood.

But just a week later, temperatures soared to the 70s and the sunshine returned, bringing balmy weather. It was so pleasant that suddenly I was enjoying outdoor patio lunches with friends or brisk walks on trails.

Soon I began to notice the buds on trees with the promise of a new season. My yard was filled with the green stalks of daffodils ready to display their yellow crowns in the coming days. My brown grass was showing signs of life. And I couldn’t help but smile as the songbirds burst into delightful song.

Spring is beginning to spring to life!

"Daffodils are the first flowers to bloom..."
"Daffodils are the first flowers to bloom..."

A change of season warms my heart like the warm sunlight. I toiled in my garden briefly, cleaning up dead winter debris in one of the flowerbeds, imagining new flowers I would plant in due time.

Just like the changing season, what changes do you long for in your life? What new things are beginning to bud and bloom with the hopes of a brighter future? What new things would you like to plant and see bloom and grow in the garden of your life and heart?

Hold on! The winter is past and spring is budding!

"Signs of spring are springing up everywhere..."
"Signs of spring are springing up everywhere..."

Beloved:

I know you are weary from the harsh winter trials of life. Many of you have endured the winter season of the soul. But just like spring, I want to revive your spirit and soul. Let My Son shine on your life with His radiant love to renew you until you burst forth with new life!

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)

“See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12)
