Stolen Identity

"Our identity was stolen..."

A few years back I had my identity stolen as did my husband. We were unaware of this transgression until circumstances alerted us to this crime.

When I started receiving phone calls that payments were overdue on a vehicle I didn’t own, I knew there was a problem. And then when I was receiving phone calls for charges on products shipped to Florida, I knew I had an issue.

Then my husband too had his identity stolen. When he filed for our tax return, he was notified that it had already been done…apparently by someone else!

Our identity was stolen without us even knowing.

It took filing police reports, and alerting the credit unions, banks, the government, and more to reclaim our identity!

We no sooner resolved these issues than thieves broke into the local postal drop box stealing all the mail. They stole every check we had written from various business, household, personal, and inheritance accounts, and then they washed them and rewrote the checks to themselves.

We were completely oblivious to the problem. We were unaware that NONE of our bills had been paid until I got a call from my bank. This wise teller noted the unusually high check amount written from my inheritance account and called to inquire! The thieves had washed the $100 ministry check and rewrote it to their name for $4,000. Their greed was what alerted the bank manager.

This became a long process of backtracking what bills had gone unpaid, canceling every single account, filing police reports, and more. It was no small task.

Identity theft is no small matter and it’s very costly!

"All of our mail was stolen and checks were washed and cashed..."

But we are all victims of identity theft in one form or another! For we have an adversary, the devil, and he is bent on stealing your true identity and mine. He is called the thief for he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He is called the father of lies for that is his very nature and he will steal your true identity with his lies.

God says you’re beloved. The enemy says God doesn’t care. God says you’re forgiven. The enemy says God can never forgive your sin. God says He blesses you and has come to give you an abundant life. The enemy wants to curse and destroy your life. God says all things are possible. The enemy says your life will never amount to anything.

These are just some of his tactics! The enemy is a liar and a thief and you have to uncover all the ways he has robbed you of your true identity as God’s child. Don’t fall for his lies anymore. Find out the truth in His Word. Reclaim your stolen identity!

"We had to meet with detectives to reclaim our identity..."

Beloved:

The enemy is a liar and a thief. Do not let him rob you of your true identity and value any longer. I sent my Son Jesus to die for you to give you every good and perfect gift that comes from Me. I long to bless your life, just turn to Me and let Me expose the enemy. Together we will reclaim your true identity.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

“When he (the devil) lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44b)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
