"I'm beginning to understand..."
"I'm beginning to understand..."

I never understood what “The Sacred Heart of Jesus” was or even what it meant! But I was intrigued by some of my friends and family members.

Now I am beginning to see! I’m starting to understand. As I draw close to Christ and close to His Cross, when I endure my own sufferings, I learn to press into His heart. And I see His passion. His sacred heart!

Christ did not just suffer betrayal and scourging. He did not just endure mockery and rejection. He suffered crucifixion and a crushed heart for all mankind. His ultimate death was the culmination of it all. The piercing of His heart and the shedding of His blood was His broken heart for all, for their sin, for their betrayal, for their rejection, and more! And His heart also broke for me…and for you.

When we draw nearer and nearer to His heart, we too can enter into and understand the anguish He endured. Not just our suffering, but the pain He feels for others… That agony too, in any shape or form—whether it’s physical, relational, death, loss, or more—can be offered to Him as we press into His pierced and crushed heart.

"Let Him hold you close to His heart..."
"Let Him hold you close to His heart..."

At Christ’s death, the veil was torn in two in the Temple, so man was no longer separated from God. And on the Cross, His heart was crushed and pierced open for us! His lifeblood poured out as a sacrifice…

The Sacred Heart Jesus: betrayed, grieved, broken, and pierced for you, for me! As we draw near, as we press into Him in any adversity we endure, we can enter into the very depths of His heart, too. And then there is a deep understanding, a Divine encounter, and even a transformative revelation of His heart. And in His sacred heart, the veil of the mind and eyes is torn open to deeper understanding. And you no longer suffer or even grieve alone. He is with you!

His heart is broken for you. His life poured out. He held us in His heart before we were ever born. He created us in His image: until sin and destruction marred our lives. But it’s to His sacred heart we must return to find our true identity and worth as well. In His heart, we hide as He is our safety too! And there, in His sacred heart, there is Divine communion with the Beloved!

Even as I write this blog, my heart grieves for close friends experiencing death and loss. And they know the deep comfort Jesus’s heart brings...

Press into Jesus's heart! Press in!

"Let His sacred heart shine brightly in you and for you..."
"Let His sacred heart shine brightly in you and for you..."

Beloved:

I understand your sorrow, your grief, your pain…indeed, your very suffering! Know I suffered for you and draw near to My heart. I will comfort you.

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him...” (Isaiah 53:5)

“Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’s side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.” (John 19:34)

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’” (Psalm 91:2)

(Dedicated to the Mendelsohn and Lyons families in their deep grief and loss!)
