The Enemy Tried

"Your enemy is defeated..."

The enemy came to taunt me and said,

“You are too old.”

But God came and reminded me.

He said, “I will use you and make you bold.”

The enemy came to mock me.

And said, “God has forgotten you.”

But Jesus came and told me.

“Those are lies, remember the truth.”

The enemy tried to tell me:

“You’re past your dreams and prime.”

God said: “No, don’t believe him!”

“I will still use you, and we are right on time!”

The enemy tried to hinder me.

And said, “It’s too late for your life’s promises now.”

But then God reminded me:

“Speak My Word with truth and power.”

The enemy tried to stop me.

And said, “You’ll never overcome.”

But God reminded me:

“It’s the enemy who is undone.”

The enemy came to attack me.

And said, “God won’t come to your help or aid.”

But then God reminded me:

“It's His loved ones He always saves.”

The enemy tried to harm me.

He said, “Now you are mine.”

But God reminded me:

“He sends His help Divine.”

The enemy tried to defeat me.

And said, “God has abandoned you.”

But then God reminded me:

“I will always bring you through.”

The enemy tried to defeat me.

 But he is the one defeated!

"In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)
